Transfer a Joomla website very easily using Akeeba backup

Hello All, Today i will discuss about transferring a Joomla website from one host to other host. For some people it can be hard if he is not experienced with Joomla. Today i will tell you a very easy solution for this problem.

Akeeba backup is a very popular extension for Joomla. Its widely used for creating backup of joomla websites. Its a free extension ( yet it have a pro version ) . You can download it for free from their website.
Install it on your joomla website. Its very easy to use. You can create a backup of your website very easily.

Now if you want to transfer your joomla website from one host to other. You will have to create a backup using akeeba backup extension. Then you need to download the backup file. You can do it from the Administrator backup tab.

Now upload the complete backup file to your new host. Usually akeeba creates backup files in JPA format. To extract the .jpa file You will have to upload an php file named kickstart.php. You can download the kickstart.php file from akeeba website

Now place both the kickstart.php file and the .jpa file on same folder in your new host. Then run the kickstart.php file using an browser. it will automatically detect the .jpa file. Click on start. It will extract all files. When down start installation of the joomla backup. You will have to create a new database and fill the database information in the installation page. You can also change the admin username and password from here.
