They say Mootools compact javascript framework and does bla bla bla. But i do not like it. Because it always creates conflicts with jQuery scripts and its heavy. mootools core, mootools more these makes a website slower. So if your website do not use any mootools effect there is no point to load this script anyway.
Yes you can disable this script. By default there is no option in joomla 2.5 but i found a nice plugin that will disable mootools on your joomla 2.5 website. Plugin name is "Disable Mootools". Its a free plugin

Now when using this plugin i faced some problems, Some extensions that requires Mootools will stop working. Also other people said that Joomla rss feed stopped if we enable this plugin.

So i was looking more a option with more flexibility. Like i want to load Mootools on homepage only , or any other specific page. I wanted control over it. Then i found another plugin that meets my requirements. Plugins name is "Mootools Enabler / Disabler

Now its work is very simple. It gives an additional parameter in menu edit page. When you can tell it if you want to load Mootools on this page or not. Isn't it simple. So you can control on which page you want to load the Mootools and in which page you do not want it.
Donot use other options like coding in template to disable mootools. They create several problems. I used that trick to unload mootools and then my recaptcha stopped working. If you have any problem with these, you can comment here so that i can help you.
